WELCOME!

Welcome to ECS Counseling Services and the opportunity to learn a little bit about me. For almost 30 years, I have been honored and humbled to have countless people and families trust in me, reveal their inner most challenges and vulnerabilities, celebrate their growth, and ultimately gain the confidence to move ahead in their lives.I felt drawn to identify a way to represent this work and who I am as a therapist. I found myself one afternoon, reflecting on this with my dog, Bodie, overlooking the beautiful Sierra mountains in our backyard.

5 INTERLINKING CIRCLES

The symbol of 5 Interlinking Circles emerged in my self-reflection as a representation of the complex, yet intricately connected elements of my therapeutic work.

*My commitment to the holistic person: emotional, mental, physical, relational, and spiritual well being.
* My respect for each complex layer of the family system: Parent, Child, Partner/Spouse, Extended Family, Community/Culture.
* The foundation of my parent coaching work: Empowerment, Confidence, Leadership, Authoritative-Nurture, Communication
* My values as a therapist: Compassion, Trust, Connection, Openness, Growth

My approach is rooted in cognitive behavioral therapy, attachment theory, somatic practice, and family systems. I work to build a relationship that fosters trust and collaboration to meet your goals.I have worked in both intensive residential and outpatient settings, school settings, and in private practice. I have continued to be inspired by life long learning and developing my expertise to assist those in navigating (both the expected and unexpected) challenges of adolescence, young adulthood, marriage, parenting, and family life. When you work with me, you will feel grounded in my experience, skill, and dedication to your therapeutic process. In our tele-health sessions, I ensure that you are given visual tools, homework assignments, recommended reading, and specific techniques that you can apply in your daily life.Outside of my work, I find joy with my family and dogs, nourish my soul with travel to my favorite beach spots, and rejuvenate through outdoor adventure and the beauty of the mountains.

Offerings
Individual Therapy:
If you are seeking personal growth, healing, relationship improvement, or simply ready to make a change, I am here to help and to understand your goals. Together, we will create a personalized roadmap and work toward the outcomes you deserve. Through practical tools, deeper insight, and meaningful strategies, we’ll focus on building resilience, confidence, and a stronger sense of self so you can move forward with clarity and purpose.
Individual Coaching: Coaching is a collaborative, goal-focused process designed to enhance your performance, learning, executive functioning, daily fulfillment, and overall balance. Together, we may address life transitions, school or job performance, relationships, or personal aspirations. Coaching emphasizes strategic planning, action-based interventions, skill building, values clarification, supportive techniques, and provides the structure and accountability needed to help you follow through. It is a partnership among equals — you bring your goals, and we work together to create a clear plan for achieving them.A special note: In my work with teens, I strongly believe in communication with parents/guardians. Parents have shared with me they often feel helpless and confused in how to support their child who suffers with mental health issues, isolates, or may be at risk for self-harm/suicide. While still honoring the confidentiality of my younger clients, I work with them to to understand the value of parental support. I help create a framework that empowers teens and their parents to navigate challenges together.

Couples Therapy: In my work with couples, I create a safe and supportive space where both partners feel heard, understood, and respected. I honor each individual’s perspective while keeping the focus on the couple as a whole — working toward shared goals of deeper connection, healthier communication, and more effective conflict management. Together, we explore patterns that may be keeping you stuck and practice new ways of relating that foster intimacy, trust, and resilience in your relationship. My goal is to help you not only resolve challenges but also strengthen your bond so that your partnership can thrive.

Parent Coaching: Parents raising children in today’s world — with technology, social media, rising mental health challenges, and conflicting priorities — often face unique stressors that can feel overwhelming. I offer parent coaching services for families managing adversity, particularly when parenting a child with emotional or behavioral struggles. When parenting conflict or misalignment becomes a primary contributor to spousal or family distress, focused intervention can make all the difference. In our work together, I provide guidance to strengthen your parenting approach, improve communication, and foster healthier family dynamics. My goal is to support you in building greater alignment and confidence as parents, so that your child — and your family as a whole — can experience stability, connection, and growth.

Family Therapy
For those living in Carson Valley, NV, I offer home-based family therapy services. When clinically indicated, telehealth family therapy can also be an effective and supportive way to address challenges as a family system. Meeting from the comfort and safety of your own home often helps family members feel more at ease, creating space for openness and vulnerability. In this setting, I work to ensure a strong therapeutic connection that fosters communication among family members, strengthens relationships, and supports the overall development of the family system. Telehealth offers both flexibility and accessibility, while still providing the depth and impact needed to create meaningful change.

CLINICAL SUPERVISION

Titles for pre-licensed clinicians vary by state, which can sometimes create confusion. So I thought I would create a simple chart rather outline all the titles in each state for which I am able to provide supervision. Regardless of title, my role as a supervisor is to support you in building clinical competence, confidence, and a professional identity as you work toward independent practice.
